Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before submitting the registration form. By submitting the registration form, I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the child named in the registration and that I have authority to provide the consents set out below.
1.1 The Junior Chefs of Aotearoa programme is open only to children who are 8 years old or older and under 13 years old at the time of participation, unless otherwise specifically stated by the organisers.
1.2 Parents/legal guardians are responsible for providing accurate information about the child’s age, identity, medical information, allergies, dietary requirements and any other information reasonably required by the organisers.
1.3 The organisers reserve the right to request proof of age and/or guardianship.
1.4 Registration does not automatically guarantee selection or participation. The organisers may limit numbers and select participants at their discretion.
2.1 By submitting this form, I confirm that I am the child’s parent or legal guardian, or that I have obtained all necessary authority and consent to register the child.
2.2 I give permission for my child to participate in Junior Chefs of Aotearoa activities, filming, photography, interviews, promotional activities and related events associated with the programme.
2.3 I understand that the programme may be photographed, filmed, recorded and documented by the organisers and/or authorised contractors, media partners, sponsors and production personnel.
3.1 I give the organisers permission to photograph, film and/or record my child during the programme and related activities.
3.2 I grant the organisers permission to use my child’s photographs, video footage, audio recordings, interviews, name, first name, age, likeness and other programme-related material for purposes connected with Junior Chefs of Aotearoa.
3.3 This may include, but is not limited to:
3.4 I understand that material published online may be shared, downloaded, reposted or otherwise distributed by third parties and that the organisers cannot control how third parties may subsequently use publicly available material.
3.5 I understand that once photographs or recordings have been published or distributed, it may not be possible for the organisers to completely remove copies that have been independently shared or reproduced by third parties.
4.1 I understand that my child will not receive payment, royalties, licence fees or other financial compensation for photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, interviews, appearances or other content created or used in connection with Junior Chefs of Aotearoa.
4.2 I voluntarily provide the consent in these Terms & Conditions without expectation of payment.
4.3 I understand that Junior Chefs of Aotearoa may use programme content for promotional, publicity, sponsorship, marketing, media and related purposes without further payment to the child or parent/legal guardian.
5.1 I consent to the organisers collecting and using information supplied in the registration form for purposes reasonably connected with administering and operating Junior Chefs of Aotearoa.
5.2 This may include the child’s name, age, contact details, emergency contact information, relevant medical information, allergies and dietary requirements.
5.3 The organisers will take reasonable steps to protect personal information and will only disclose information where reasonably required for the operation, safety, administration, production, promotion or legal requirements of the programme.
5.4 The organisers may use the child’s first name and age in promotional or media material. The organisers will not intentionally publish unnecessary private information such as the child’s home address, personal phone number or other sensitive identifying information.
6.1 Parents/legal guardians must disclose all relevant medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, medication requirements and other information that could reasonably affect the child’s participation.
6.2 Parents/legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that the information supplied is accurate and kept up to date.
6.3 The organisers may impose reasonable restrictions on activities where necessary to protect the health and safety of a child or others.
6.4 Where appropriate, parents/legal guardians may be contacted regarding medical, allergy, dietary or safety matters.
7.1 I understand that Junior Chefs of Aotearoa involves children participating in cooking and kitchen-related activities.
7.2 Kitchen activities may involve potential hazards including, but not limited to, hot surfaces, ovens, boiling liquids, sharp utensils, knives, electrical equipment, food allergens, spills and other kitchen hazards.
7.3 The organisers will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate supervision, instructions and safety procedures.
7.4 Children are expected to follow instructions from organisers, chefs, supervisors and authorised personnel at all times.
7.5 A child’s participation may be restricted or ended where their behaviour creates an unreasonable risk to themselves, another child, staff, volunteers or members of the public.
8.1 Children participating in Junior Chefs of Aotearoa are expected to behave respectfully and appropriately.
8.2 Bullying, harassment, violence, intimidation, deliberate unsafe behaviour, discrimination, damage to property or repeated failure to follow reasonable instructions may result in the child’s participation being suspended or terminated.
8.3 The organisers reserve the right to remove a child from an activity or programme where reasonably necessary for safety, welfare or operational reasons.
9.1 Parents/legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that the child arrives at the required location at the specified time and is collected as required.
9.2 Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, parents/legal guardians remain responsible for transport to and from the programme.
9.3 Parents/legal guardians must provide accurate emergency contact details.
9.4 Parents/legal guardians must promptly notify the organisers if any information supplied during registration changes.
10.1 The organisers reserve the right to change programme dates, times, locations, activities, personnel, format or other programme arrangements where reasonably necessary.
10.2 The organisers may postpone, cancel or modify activities due to circumstances including weather, venue availability, staffing, health and safety concerns, government requirements, unforeseen events or other circumstances outside the organisers’ reasonable control.
10.3 The organisers will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of significant changes where practicable.
11.1 Junior Chefs of Aotearoa may involve sponsors, supporters, production companies, photographers, videographers, journalists, broadcasters and other authorised third parties.
11.2 I understand that my child’s image or voice may appear in media coverage or promotional material relating to the programme.
11.3 I understand that the organisers may provide authorised photographers, videographers, production personnel, media organisations and programme partners with access to approved programme footage or photographs for purposes connected with the programme.
12.1 Photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, graphics, promotional material and other content created by or on behalf of the organisers in connection with Junior Chefs of Aotearoa may be owned or controlled by the organisers and/or the relevant production or media partners, subject to applicable law.
12.2 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions transfers ownership of the child’s personal intellectual property to the organisers.
13.1 A parent/legal guardian may contact the organisers to withdraw future consent for the use of their child’s image or recordings.
13.2 Withdrawal of consent will apply to future use where reasonably practicable.
13.3 Withdrawal cannot necessarily require the removal of material that has already been printed, broadcast, published, distributed, archived, shared by third parties or otherwise made publicly available before the withdrawal was received.
13.4 Withdrawal of media consent may affect the child’s ability to participate in certain filmed, photographed or broadcast components of the programme.
14.1 The organisers will take reasonable steps to provide a safe environment and appropriate supervision.
14.2 Parents/legal guardians acknowledge that participation in cooking and other activities carries inherent risks, and agree that their child must follow all reasonable safety instructions.
14.3 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under New Zealand law.
15.1 To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, I acknowledge that participation in Junior Chefs of Aotearoa involves ordinary risks associated with cooking, travel to and from activities, use of kitchen equipment and participation in group activities.
15.2 I agree that the organisers, their volunteers, staff and authorised personnel will not be responsible for loss, damage, injury or expense except to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
15.3 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law.
16.1 I authorise the organisers to contact me or the nominated emergency contact if an emergency or significant health or safety concern arises.
16.2 If urgent medical attention is reasonably considered necessary and a parent/legal guardian cannot be contacted promptly, I authorise the organisers to seek appropriate emergency medical assistance for my child.
16.3 I understand that any medical treatment or associated costs remain subject to the applicable healthcare and insurance arrangements.
